Smithson Valley's Colton Thomasson Named 2023 All-American

Nov. 2, 2022 - The All-American Bowl’s Road to the Dome tour will visit Smithson Valley High School on Thursday, Nov. 3, to recognize Colton Thomasson as a 2023 All-American.

Thomasson will be honored before classmates, teammates, family and friends at 8 a.m. Thursday in the performing arts center at SVHS.

“Colton is obviously an excellent player with a bright future,” says Larry Hill, SVHS athletic coordinator and head football coach, “or he would not have been selected to play in this game and would not have the opportunity to sign with Texas A&M. But more importantly, he is a fine young man. He has natural leadership skills to go along with his playing ability. He proudly represents Smithson Valley High School in many arenas outside of football. We have been blessed to have him in our presence.”

Thomasson is a four-star recruit and has committed verbally to Texas A&M University. He will play in the annual East vs. West matchup on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, in the Alamodome in San Antonio. The Bowl will be nationally televised, live on NBC and Peacock, and will feature the nation’s top 100 high school football players.

In addition, San Antonio Sports will recognize SVHS athletes David De Hoyos, T.J. Hunt and Gavin Woods who were selected to play in the San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game presented by H-E-B.

The San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game follows the All-American Bowl and will be broadcast locally on CW35 and San Antonio Sports Star ESPN 94.1 FM/1250 AM.

Congratulations!
