March 12, 2025 - Mayfair presented the first donation of $2,800 to the Comal Education Foundation on Monday, March 10, as part of the Mayfair Promise.
“This donation will help us further our mission to enrich learning and expand educational opportunities for all students in Comal ISD,” says Steve Lyons, who serves as the president of the board of directors for the Foundation.
The Comal Education Foundation, which was established in 2001, is a non-profit charity that provides support and resources for the teachers and students of Comal Independent School District. It is one of three charities selected to receive an annual donation by Mayfair based on net single family home sales for the life of the New Braunfels development.
“The Mayfair Promise is our way of giving back to these amazing organizations who are doing so much to support the New Braunfels community, not just in a one-time donation but in a commitment for the life of Mayfair’s development,” says Thad Rutherford, CEO of Southstar.
“While there is no shortage of great charities here, we felt these three encompassed Mayfair’s vision for conservation, quality education and healthy living. These groups are important to the region’s success, and we strongly support their efforts.”
The other two charities are Headwaters at Comal and Parks Foundation.
The donation consists of $100 per home per charity. The first donation of $2,800 per charity is based on the first 28 closings in 2024. The donations will be awarded each spring in February or March.
