April 3, 2025 - The Comal Independent School District is hosting a districtwide job fair 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 12, at Canyon High School, 1510 IH-35, in New Braunfels. All interested applicants are encouraged to attend.
Representatives from every Comal ISD campus will be on hand at this annual job fair as the fast-growth district looks to fill positions for the 2025-2026 school year. They are looking to hire for all positions including transportation, after school childcare, office/clerical, teachers, special programs educators, custodial and classroom assistants.
In addition, the district’s transportation department is hosting an “Experience the Ride” school bus driving event during the job fair offering interested applicants the opportunity to literally take the wheel of a school bus and navigate the parking lot. Anyone participating in the behind-the-wheel event must be at least 21 years old and have a valid Texas driver’s license, and asked to wear closed-toe shoes, preferably tennis shoes.
The district, which covers 589 square miles, includes Comal County as well as portions of Bexar, Guadalupe, Hays and Kendall counties. Serving 10 communities with 35 campuses, the district offers great locations from which to work including 20 elementary schools, eight middle schools and seven high schools in Bulverde, Canyon Lake, Garden Ridge, New Braunfels, the northern tip of San Antonio, Sattler, Smithson Valley, Spring Branch and Startzville. A new elementary school, Mayfair Elementary School, is scheduled to open in the fall of 2025.
