May 29, 2026 - The Comal Independent School District is offering free breakfast and lunch meals for children 18 years and younger at two locations this summer with two additional distribution sites thanks to a partnership with The San Antonio Food Bank.
The district’s Free Summer Meal sites and details on distribution times and dates are listed below. Children must be present, and meals must be consumed on site. No identification or paperwork is required.
Comal ISD Free Summer Meal Details
- Breakfast: 7:45 a.m. - 9 a.m.
- Lunch: 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

- Comal Creek Elementary School, 233 Hubertus Rd., New Braunfels
- Tuesday-Thursday, June 9-25 and July 7-23
- Morningside Elementary School, 3855 Morningside Dr., New Braunfels
- Monday-Thursday, May 27-June 25

Summer Food Service Partnership with The San Antonio Food Bank
In addition to the Summer Meal sites, Comal ISD is partnering with The San Antonio Food Bank to offer summer meals to more students and families in June and July.
The San Antonio Food Bank is providing outdoor distributions of 10-day meal kits to children at two Comal ISD campuses: Clear Spring Elementary and Startzville Elementary.
Each child receives one meal box that includes 10 breakfasts and 10 lunches. In addition, a 50-pound bag of fresh produce including fruit will be provided to each household.
Each child must be registered to receive the meals.

Dates for the San Antonio Food Bank 10-meal distribution at both Comal ISD locations:
- Monday, June 8
- Monday, June 22

Distribution at Startzville Elementary, 42111 FM 3159, Canyon Lake, takes place from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Distribution at Clear Spring Elementary, 550 Avery Parkway New Braunfels, takes place from noon to 1:30 p.m.
